Teitur - Poetry & Aeroplanes
sleeping with the lights on
"I've been haunted by this old ghost before… I want to hear your voice you know it's been so long. Like a dancing wave you balance on the shore. It would feel so good to see your face again. I still sleep with the lights on…"
If you are hopelessly in love, if you carry the memory of a love lost, a love slipped away but never forgotten, if long-distance relationships, childhood memories and thoughtful introspection are things you can relate to, then Poetry & Aeroplanes by Teitur Lassen deserves a place on your play list.
Teitur's melodies are simple and sweet; his lyrics, profoundly moving and deeply personal. Here is a young singer-songwriter, poet muse-musician who writes, plays and sings naturally as if reminiscing on the spot.

I Was Just Thinking, Teitur You're The Ocean…
Okay, no more clues, I will tell you right now that after listening to the first three songs from Teitur Lassen's Poetry and Aeroplanes CD, Sleeping With The Lights On, I Was Just Thinking and You're The Ocean, you will, if you have any fair sense of talent, be impressed, intrigued, and anxious to hear more.
Poetry & Aeroplanes: Simon & Garfunkel Redux - It's not so much that Teitur Lassen sounds like a young Paul Simon, and he does, but more that he writes like one. Seasoned listeners will experience déjà vu likening Teitur's I Was Just Thinking and Let's Go Dancing with Simon & Garfunkel classics such as Kathy's Song, For Emily or April Come She Will. Teitur captures the same stark, simple innocence that made those songs so great. Make no mistake however, Teitur Lassen is an artist with his own voice and style and both are exceptional.
Poignant and emotionally evocative, Teitur's Poetry & Aeroplanes is a great first album. Judging from the tremendously positive response and growing world-wide recognition, Teitur is certain to become a familiar, and much anticipated artist. - review by jack "papa" baer 2004-05-20
Teitur Poetry & Aeroplanes Lyrics
I Was Just Thinking
"I was just thinking that I have been missing you for way too long. There's something inside this weary head that wants us to love just instead. But I was just thinking, merely thinking.
I've got loads of pictures, I've got the one of you in that dancing dress. But man I feel silly in that dim light just after doing you by the sight of My Kodak delights. I am sinking, merely sinking. I think about long distance rates instead of kissing you babe, I'm a singer without a song.
If I wait any longer my affection is stronger I, I was just thinking, merely thinking this boat is sinking. I'm tired of postcards, especially the ones with cute dogs and cupids, I'm tired of calling you, missing you, dreaming I've slept with you. Don't get me wrong I still desperately love you.
Inside this weary head I just want us to love just instead. But I was just thinking and thinking, merely thinking I think about long distance rates instead of kissing you babe. And time is running me still. If I wait for you longer my affection is stronger, I was just thinking - I was just thinking that I'm tired of calling you once a week And thinking of long distance rates instead of kissing you. Baby I'm sinking, merely sinking." - Teitur Lassen
